250 GRACIOUS WOODPECKER
Stained Glass Medallion Window CIRCA 1890
This beautiful old window is still in its original frame . It was removed from a house in Lancashire during refurbishment. This is one of Four windows removed from the same property. The coloured glass is of a heavy and deep texture and has no crack or chips
It is an attribute of this heavy old glass to collect and softly diffuse the colours of the light falling upon it. The hand painted picture in the central medallion is a new work of art - it has been specially commissioned by a local wildlife artist - only 1 in exsistance - painted in his small studio close to Haworth the Home of the famous Bronte Sisters. The existing centres of these windows had sadly been destroyed, I think this specially commissioned painting makes them very special. THE WINDOWS BEING AMONG THE BEST VICTORIAN ONES I HAVE HAD. The frame measures 28 3/4"W x 29 1/4"H . The glass measures 25 3/4" x 26 1/4" .
